The 117th winner of the 1000 Guineas, held on Friday 9th May 1930 over the Rowley Mile, was Fair Isle (7/4 fav), a bay filly by Phalaris out of Scapa Flow, owned by the 17th Earl of Derby. The winner won by a short head in 1 minute 43 secs, with a neck back to the third. A field of 19 runners contested the race which was worth £5,050 (Equivalent to £294,400 in 2017)
